Adding a Text Import Device

The following topic discusses how to add and configure a text import device.

To Add a Text Import Device

  1. Using CygNet Explorer, open the Device Definition Service (DDS), and select the Import/Export Devices page.
  2. Right-click in the white space and select New Import/Export Device.
  3. In the Select a Device Type… list select Text Import, and click OK.

    Note: If you right-click on an existing import device, that device will be used as a template; right-click in the white space for a blank record.

  4. Configure the device and save your work by clicking Apply or OK (Apply saves the changes and keeps the dialog box open; OK saves the changes and closes the box).
  5. Click the Test button to make sure no errors will occur during the import.
  6. Click the Import Now button to execute the import.
